Working in partnership with Hampshire County Council Waste Prevention Team and Smart Living Hampshire, volunteers will promote awareness and knowledge about the different waste streams, and how to stop waste at source.
Volunteers will work with Ringwood Repair Café to promote and support the monthly Ringwood Repair Café meetings and continue to promote the Right to Repair initiative, and continue membership of The Hampshire Repair Café Network (part of HCC Waste Prevention) and the Retarters network.
Volunteers will work in collaboration with Ringwood Community Fridge to stop food waste; providing householders with information on stopping food waste from the Love Food Hate Waste Food, and Hubbub Community Fridge Network sites.
Volunteers will hold general waste prevention information events locally, as part of the Hampshire Waste Prevention Champions membership.
Volunteers will raise awareness of the importance of stopping single use plastics through membership of the Plastic Free Ringwood Community (Surfers Against Sewage) organisation. They will organise Community Litter Picks in Ringwood and surrounding areas in collaboration with other Ringwood community groups.
Volunteers will promote the use of Freecycle and other initiatives to stop unwanted possessions going to waste –They will organise Kerbside Freecycle events in Ringwood and surrounding areas to help facilitate this, in collaboration with other local organisations.
